Our Ruby Port is made with Portuguese varietals (Touriga Nacional, Tinta Cao, Tinta Roriz) aged in puncheons (large barrels) for 7 years. It was fortified with high proof which increases the alcohol level and stops the fermentation process. The 2013 Hatcher Port is 18% alcohol with 8% sugar. Best served at room temperature. Can last indefinitely when unopened. Drink within a month once opened. Storing in the refrigerator will not increase the life of the port once opened. It is considered a dessert wine. Delicious with dark chocolate, brownies or cigars. A little goes a long way.
